Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Paul immigrated to Buenos Aires, Argentina as an infant in 1969 and then moved to New York City, where he grew up in Queens and Long Island in the 70’s and early 80's. After moving to the San Francisco Bay Area, Paul attended Moreau Catholic High School in Hayward and graduated from U.C. Berkeley before launching his career in finance and then real estate.
He learned about real estate investing and property management as a Cal student at age 19 when he was a resident manager of a 49-unit apartment building in Berkeley. Paul then started buying and owning his own real estate at the age of 21.

He sold our home at a price we were very pleased with and busted his bottom making sure everyone involved was happy. He must write emails and texts in his dreams- he's a great communicator. Without Paul's extra steps and personal input, who knows if our house would have looked as good on the market. He was honest and upfront about the entire process and didn't play any games. It was a relief to have Paul in charge. Paul is an excellent negotiator, so we also had him help us buy our next home. We could see how well he connected with the selling agent for the home we bought. It was a long process, but he fought for us and in the end we won the house of our dreams. We would recommend using Paul in a heartbeat. It's obvious he loves his job and he's in the perfect field for him.

My 85 year old mother was lost in a sea of debt and declining health when we first met Paul Tiao. My sister had found him over the Internet, when looking for Christian realtors. That was important to us, and perhaps, not as much to mom, initially.
At our first meeting with Paul, together with mom, Paul brought homemade cookies and a friend my mom's age. This initial meeting was so important to us all. It was the moment when I explained to mom her critical financial situation and her need for more constant medical care. The most wonderful thing about Paul is that he doesn't speak until he needs to, but he listens well, and he did so that first day, when mom signed the paperwork and we began the process. My mom liked him immediately.
Our journey to the sale of our family home was not easy. My pregnant daughter and her partner lived in my mom's home and were her caregivers. There was a tenant as well. There was quite a bit of repair that needed to be done. We needed a kind, patient, and flexible realtor, and Paul was all of the above. We had to move people from room to room to complete work. Paul was always available to our family. I live 3 hours from Berkeley, and was completing much of this long distance. He filled in for me. I was most grateful.
Throughout the bids and the paperwork, Paul remained calm and kind. He became a part of our family, asking often about our family members and my granddaughter. It really was a family affair. The sale of our family home, in which we were the only family to have lived there, until sale, was a family journey.
We cannot be more grateful to have had Paul by our side. He was certainly an encourager, a prayer warrior, and a friend, and most importantly, a realtor who was able to get us more for the house than we initially expected without having to pay costs which we could have.

I'm hesitant to share this review because I don't want Fiona to get too busy! Selfish, I know but I want her to be available for when I'm ready to start looking again.But seeing as how it's SO hard to find a good realtor, I have to give props when they're due. Fiona is the best you can get. She's smart, hardworking, and easy to like. She won't push you into something you don't want just to make a sale. She goes out of her way to improve the process, making it as seamless as possible (even though you know she's pulling double-duty behind the scenes).Also, the Chinese-American experience was super helpful. I am so late writing this, but it's been on my mind for the last few months. We purchased our home in November 2020 during the pandemic of course. Fiona was such a pleasure to work with and in our opinion a wonderful person. She was patient with us, made sure to hear us and shift to our wants and needs. Every Saturday or so, she would be available and ready to view some houses. Fiona was responsive to our questions, checking the reports and giving us her expert opinion.
